Located in the heart of Chula Vista, Teriyaki Grill is a culinary gem that artfully blends Asian, Japanese, Vietnamese, and vegetarian flavors into an unforgettable dining experience. This family-owned restaurant has earned a devoted following for its fresh, vibrant dishes and warm, welcoming atmosphere that invites you to unwind and savor every bite.
Teriyaki Grill’s menu is a delightful mosaic of tastes and textures, each dish showcasing a thoughtful fusion of ingredients and expertly crafted flavors. The standout Steve’s Steak Sandwich is a must-try—grilled to a perfect medium rare, the thinly sliced steak bursts with juicy richness, all elevated by a bold, spicy Peruvian chimichurri sauce and nestled within a soft torta. Equally mouthwatering is the Teriyaki Burger, a juicy Angus patty topped with caramelized pineapple, sautéed mushrooms, onions, and real cheddar cheese, creating a juicy harmony of sweet and savory that lingers pleasantly on the palate.
For those preferring lighter or vegetarian options, the Teriyaki Tofu Bento offers a perfectly balanced medley of flavor and freshness, while the Teriyaki Salmon Bento delivers tender, flaky salmon glazed with a luscious teriyaki sauce. Don’t miss tempting appetizers like the Japanese Tuna Ceviche—a hidden gem bursting with refreshing crunch from cucumbers and a zesty, spicy citrus kick that awakens your senses. The Hung #1 Hot Wings bring a beautiful balance of garlicky sweetness and fiery heat—so good they famously “stole” the recipe from the chef’s own father. Plus, the Crab Cakes, fried in coconut oil to achieve irresistibly crispy edges, are rich and satisfying, made-from-scratch patties served with a tantalizing spicy mayo.
The menu also surprises with creative offerings like the Mekishiko Taco and the Taco Flight, perfect for those wanting a light yet flavorful snack or meal. Craft beer and Thai Tea round out your dining experience, providing refreshing beverages that complement the robust flavors of the food.
The dining atmosphere at Teriyaki Grill mirrors the care evident in their food—clean, friendly, and lively, it’s the kind of place where locals return time and again. As one longtime patron, Nathan Tyler Pierce, shares, “From the service to the food, you can feel the love that goes into this family-owned establishment.” Authenticity and passion shine through every dish and interaction.
While parking can be a challenge during peak hours due to the busy street location, the restaurant’s popularity is a testament to the quality and satisfaction Teriyaki Grill consistently delivers. Customers like Irene Oshiro have praised the fresh, tasty meals accompanied by crispy gyoza, noting that every protein—from salmon and beef to chicken—is cooked to perfection. Another admirer, mojigata, raves about the new crab cake sandwich, highlighting the perfect balance of spicy mayo and pickled onions that make each bite a delight.
Whether you are craving an indulgent steak sandwich bursting with bold flavors, crave a refreshing taste of Japanese Tuna Ceviche, or seek a vibrant vegetarian bento, Teriyaki Grill offers a rich culinary journey that feels both comforting and adventurous. It’s a shining example of how thoughtful, quality cuisine paired with warm hospitality creates a dining experience you want to revisit again and again.
I really enjoyed dinner at this restaurant. The food was fresh and tasty. The meals come with veggies and crispy gyoza. We tried salmon, beef and chicken all were amazing! The service is great, everyone was friendly. Parking is the only downfall but that just depends on the time of day. It is a busy street. We will definitely return to try different options.
Had the taco flight! Def on point and just light enough for a lunch snack. The seared tuna, the steak I loved, the octopus was ok, sauce was good. Not sure what's missing so I won't hate on it
I’ve been going here for around 10 years now, first fell in love with this place my freshman year of high-school, I tried the Steve’s steak sandwich and it’s been my favorite ever since. To this day this is my favorite place to relax when I want to eat something that reminds me of home. From the service to the food you can feel the love that goes into this family owned establishment, it’s been my hidden gem for many years and will continue to be for many more.
Great all around experience.. If this place was closer to our house we'd probably come back a lot. Ordered teriyaki beef bento box and my wife got the same but with chicken. I tried both and both were very good.
I love this place. I’ve been coming for years. It’s always clean, everyone is friendly and the food is the best of the best. This time I tried their new crab cake sandwich and wow!! It was amazing. With spicy mayo and the pickled onions were the perfect touch! If you are around you have to stop by!!
Food tastes great (Not too heavy or saucy-just right) and fresh. We ordered crab cakes, Tuna salad, Teriyaki burger, beef and chicken combo, salmon combo, and flan. Service was great as well- friendly, frequent, and fast. Would recommend and visit again.
Walk in was confuse if I should order at the register or sit down was totally confused so I just set my stuff in the table and went up to the cashier for a menu order at the register food came on time it was good I thought it was a bento box but it wasn’t it was on a big plate wish the portion of the salad and veggies was more one of my pieces of chicken had a bone in it but overall the food was good but for 20$*with can soda* it should be a little bit more portion
